The Jeanneau Sun Odyssey is a modern family cruising yacht with a good combination of sailing performance and comfortable accommodation. This is a well equipped single aft cabin example, and is in her original ownership from new. Over the years she has been cruised from the East Coast and Holland, through the Channel to the Brittany coast and the Scillies. She has radar, heating and a cockpit bimini cover, plus a wind generator to keep the batteries charged. Now ashore in Hampshire.

The interior is finished in teak veneered plywood, with solid teak trims and surrounds, except the small panels either side of the companionway steps, which are in teak-effect laminate to better resist water splashes. Floorboards are teak and holly.
The Sun Odyssey 37 was designed for Jeanneau by Jacques Fauroux, and introduced in mid-1999 as a replacement for the Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 36.2. Production of the 37 continued until around 2005/6 when it was replaced with the Sun Odyssey 39i.
The hull is solid hand-laid GRP, with Kevlar for added strength in high-load areas. There are moulded-in longitudinal stringers and floor grids. Unlike Beneteaus of similar age, there is no single full-length inner moulding, though there is a large sub-moulding forming the GRP heads compartment base. The deck is balsa-cored, with a moulded inner lining. The hull on this yacht was coppercoated in 2018.
The SO37 design was built with either one or two aft cabins, and a choice of deep or shallow keels. This yacht has the 6' 4" deep keel. In this single aft cabin version the aft cabin has a very large double berth, that can be slept in either fore and aft or athwartships. The saloon is spacious, with a fixed forward-facing chart table, and the heads has a separate showering compartment.
The Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 37 shares the same hull and interior as the "club racing version" the Sun Fast 37, which has a very slightly bigger rig and deeper keel, plus some minor changes to deck gear.
The companionway step unit hinges down for access to the Volvo MD2040 diesel engine. There is also access to the side and rear of the engine from the aft cabin.
